Flip the Script

Beheld Podcast Blog

You know the script.
The one we were handed without even realizing it.

It goes something like:

  • Be strong.
  • Don’t cry in public.
  • Don’t ask for too much.
  • Make it look easy.
  • Keep it all together—especially when you’re falling apart.

And for a long time, we played our part.
Perfectly.

But here’s the truth:
We’re tired of the script.
Tired of measuring our worth by how much we can carry without breaking.
Tired of shrinking our feelings so other people feel more comfortable.

So today?
Let’s flip it.

Instead of “I’m fine”…

Try:
“I’m tired, but I’m being honest about it.”
“I’m struggling, but I’m not ashamed.”
“I’m healing, even if it’s messy.”

Instead of “I’ve got it all under control”…

Try:
“I’m figuring it out, but I don’t have to do it alone.”
“I’m allowed to ask for help.”
“I don’t have to be the strong one every single time.”

Instead of “I can’t afford to rest”…

Try:
“Rest is how I stay well.”
“My peace matters more than my pace.”
“I don’t have to earn rest—I just have to receive it.”

This Is What We’re Doing at Beheld

We’re unlearning hustle culture disguised as emotional independence.
We’re saying yes to softness, to slowness, to truth-telling.
We’re building a space where being “high-capacity” doesn’t mean high-pressure or high-burnout.

Because when you flip the script,
You give yourself back your voice.
Your breath.
Your humanity.

We’re not here to perform strength.

We’re here to practice wholeness.

Even if it’s not polished.
Even if we’re still rewriting it one line at a time.

So if you’ve been carrying a story that doesn’t feel like yours anymore—
This is your invitation to write a new one.

Start with this sentence:
I am allowed to be all of me.

And let that be enough.
